Yoga & Ayurvedic Practices for Perimenopause & post Menopause

In Person in Chesterfield, MA

CANCELED DUE TO LOW ENROLLMENT!

LEARN healing and refreshing perspectives about menopause - and the empowering reasons behind this natural life transition.

ENJOY yogic and Ayurvedic practices to balance your life and better manage the natural changes your body will experience.

EXPERIENCE the support of community to help you embrace the power and liberation found in the embodied "wise woman" post-menopause.

Menopause is a word that tends to strike confusion or anxiety in most. It is a time of life that is often rejected, avoided, or spoken about in hushed tones. And up until quite recently, is even pathologized similar to a disease by Western medicine. Finally, women in post-menopause - who for millennia in many indigenous societies held places of respect and yes, even leadership - have been invisibilized and marginalized by Western culture.

In fact, menopause (when occuring non surgically or chemically) is NOT a pathology - nor is it something to be eradicated or avoided. It is an entirely natural, but yes, sometimes radical and difficult - transformative process that can - when approached with clarity, knowledge and care - potentially bring us greater empowerment and ultimately, a far-more-discerning wisdom and equanimity!

This natural change is mysterious and powerful - but it is NOT a disease that needs to be “fixed" by our disintegrating and sometimes misogynist healthcare system. Rather, it is a life passage that has the potential to become a truly empowering and liberating process—an initiation--into the kind of human being so vastly needed in these times of chaos and collapse:

The "Wise Woman" or "Wisdom Keeper"

IF YOU'RE STRUGGLING RIGHT NOW WITH THIS CHANGE,
KNOW THAT IT CAN AND DOES GET BETTER!

FINDING SUPPORT AND BEING IN COMMUNITY
WITH WOMEN WHO HAVE MADE THE TRANSITION HELPS.

LEARNING THE FACTS ABOUT WHAT IS HAPPENING AND
WHY IT'S HAPPENING, ALONG WITH SENSIBLE CARE PRACTICES, ARE KEYS TO ALLEVIATING SUFFERING!

KNOWLEDGE IS POWER!

I invite you to join me to learn what I've been taught by wise women and discovered during my own transition: the myths and the facts, the theories and the stories, along with sensible, manageable lifestyle shifts in perspective that can help address this change - plus targeted practices that help navigate the challenges of perimenopause holistically and wisely.

This workshop is multigenerational, and for those who:
  • are still in their menstruating years but want to be in community with other women to learn about menopause;
  • are in perimenopause - right in the midst of the "initiation" process - and seeking alternative support;
  • have passed through the initiation of menopause to the other side - the wisdom keeper - and want to help support others as they pass through with greater ease!

We'll learn:
  • menopause basics - what it is, how it generally unfolds AND an empowering hypothesis on why it happens;
  • how and why the Western medical establishment and our culture often pathologizes what is entirely natural;
  • the real issues and concerns that stress women as they enter this "time of life";
  • pragmatic, far less condemning beliefs about our bodies in transition and our entry into the wisdom keeper time of life!

You’ll Experience:
  • a beautiful, simple Sanskrit mantra combined with a brief but effective movement ritual you can do daily to protect, balance and empower mind, body and spirit;
  • simple but highly effective pranayama/breath practices combined with a gentle but deeply stress relieving asana sequence, to bring balance, and clear the mind;
  • a simple nightly grounding Ayurvedic practice ritual to help with: sleep issues and increased stress!
  • Gentle but effective herbal teas and herbal recommendations that harness plant power to support and ease your transition before, during and after.
  • a targeted pranayama practice that can immediately ease and even prevent hot flashes
  • BONUS: we'll experience an hour-long community sauna session in our new on-site sauna together!

Doing these simply but powerful practices  consistently helped me transition wisely and holistically. They can help you, too. Their benefits compound over time, and provide a sensible, non-pharmaceutical, self-empowered means to taking control of - and easing - this rite of passage.

You'll receive:
  • A  basic Ayurvedic self-care/dinacharya starter kit with instructions for these simple daily Ayurvedic practices that help ease the stress of this rite of passage;
  • A handout that includes the special life-affirming Sanskrit chant & it's ritual, the short asana sequence to be done daily for stress relief, along with a bibliography of resources (books and online media) for your own continued practice and exploration;
  • A choice of herbal tea blends to enjoy during the workshop, plus some light refreshements, too.
  • An hour long group sauna session!!
  • A 15% discount towards a private 75 minute Ayurvedic Health Counseling session & one 45 minute follow up session with me!

Learn about your own potential to become the kind of human that is embodied by the loving, truthful, discerning and fearless feminine power of the Wise Woman.
